Product updates

What shipped, and what is next.

A monthly record of new capabilities, improvements, and fixes — plus what we are working on, marked honestly as planned rather than promised.

Sample content. The release entries below are illustrative placeholders showing how product updates will be presented. They are not a record of actual releases and must be replaced with real release history before launch.

Conditional Sparks and response intelligence

Sparks can now decide what to ask based on what the profile already knows, and the analytics layer surfaces findings rather than waiting to be queried.

  • New Conditional Sparks — a Spark can now skip itself entirely when the property it fills is already present on the Signal profile, so returning customers are never asked the same question twice.
  • New Response intelligence findings — automatically surfaced patterns connecting answer values to subsequent purchase behaviour, each one labelled with the sample size behind it.
  • Improved Klaviyo property sync now backfills up to 90 days of prior responses when a new property mapping is added, rather than only applying to responses received afterwards.
  • Improved Survey editor keyboard navigation and screen reader labelling across the question builder.
  • Fixed Multi-select answers containing commas are no longer split incorrectly on CSV export.
  • Planned Spark scheduling windows, so a Spark can be limited to specific days or hours.

Template library and thank-you page publishing

The public template library went live, and publishing to the Shopify thank-you page became a two-click operation instead of a theme edit.

  • New Survey template library — five complete templates covering product finder, post-purchase, preference center, attribution, and replenishment, each with recommended properties and flows.
  • New Thank-you page publishing via a Shopify checkout extension, with no theme code required.
  • Improved Identity resolution now matches responses to Shopify customers through email-linked entry points as well as active sessions, meaningfully reducing anonymous responses from email-delivered surveys.
  • Improved Response dashboard loads incrementally, so large response sets render immediately instead of blocking on a full query.
  • Fixed Surveys published to a dedicated URL respected targeting rules that should only apply to storefront placements.
  • Planned Template library expansion to the remaining six categories.

AI Survey Builder, generally available

Describe what you want to learn and Signals proposes the survey — structure, questions, branching, and the customer properties each answer should create.

  • New AI Survey Builder is generally available to all plans. It generates the introduction, questions, answer choices, conditional follow-ups, and recommended properties from a plain-language prompt.
  • New Suggested audiences and follow-up messages returned alongside every generated survey.
  • Improved Generated surveys open in the standard editor as a fully editable draft — nothing is locked, and nothing publishes without review.
  • Improved Abandonment detection window is now configurable per survey rather than fixed globally.
  • Fixed Branching logic referencing a deleted question no longer left a survey in an unpublishable state.
  • Planned Prompt-based editing of an existing survey, not just generation of a new one.

Compass profile contribution and export controls

Survey responses now contribute to unified Compass profiles for merchants who use both — and every merchant gained finer control over retention and export.

  • New Compass integration — responses enrich unified customer profiles and can shape Compass audiences. Optional throughout; Signals remains a complete Shopify product without it.
  • New Configurable data retention per survey, with automatic deletion of raw responses past the window you set.
  • Improved Response export now includes the resolved Shopify customer ID and order context alongside the answers.
  • Improved Klaviyo connection health is surfaced in the admin with the time of the last successful sync.
  • Fixed Timezone drift caused some responses to appear in the wrong day bucket on the trends chart.
  • Planned Scheduled exports to a destination of your choice.

Most of this came from merchants asking.

Conditional Sparks exist because merchants told us they were embarrassed to ask a loyal customer the same question twice. Retention controls exist because someone needed them for a procurement review. If something is missing, the fastest route to it being built is telling us.
